Key Certification Data
Key Certification Features
Unique Certification Basis
Unlike traditional certifications based on national or industry standards, Shenzhen Standard Certification uses enterprise or group standards that have passed advanced evaluation. This approach highlights product advancement and reflects core corporate competitiveness.
Diverse Testing Approaches
To shorten certification cycles and reduce costs, the certification accepts test reports from various sources including self-submitted tests, government supervision sampling, and qualified enterprise laboratories. For innovative technologies, TMP or WMT testing methods are also available.
Flexible Factory Inspection
Factory inspections focus on quality assurance capabilities and compliance with advanced indicators. The certification may accept results from other relevant certifications, reducing duplicate evaluations for companies with valid management system certifications.
Unified Certification Mark
All certification bodies use unified certificate templates and the Shenzhen Standard logo, enhancing regulatory consistency and building brand recognition for Shenzhen Standard certified products.
Focus on Advanced Performance
The certification emphasizes advanced performance indicators including color rendering, color consistency, efficacy, and mechanical strength that exceed conventional product requirements.
Streamlined Application Process
Certification applications are processed within 2 working days of receiving complete documentation, with certification decisions made within 7 working days after testing and factory inspection.
Content Overview
Document Contents
1. Scope
These implementation rules specify the certification basis, mode, application procedures, sampling and testing, initial factory inspection, evaluation and approval, post-certification supervision, renewal, and use of certification certificates and marks for LED flexible strip lights used in indoor lighting applications.
The rules apply to LED flexible strip light products designed for indoor lighting purposes.
2. Certification Basis
The certification is based on:
- SSAE-A16-011 Shenzhen Standard Advanced Evaluation Rules for LED Flexible Strip Lights for Indoor Lighting
- Enterprise standards or group standards for LED flexible strip light products that have passed the "Shenzhen Standard" advanced evaluation
- Relevant national mandatory standards and regulations
The latest versions of these documents are applied in principle.
3. Certification Mode
The certification follows the mode: Product Sampling and Testing + Initial Factory Inspection + Post-Certification Supervision.
The certification process includes the following basic steps:
- Certification application
- Product sampling and testing
- Initial factory inspection
- Certification result evaluation and approval
- Post-certification supervision
- Renewal
4. Certification Application
4.1 Certification Unit Division
Certification units are divided based on the following principles:
- Products using the same product standard with consistent key components (LED chips, circuit boards, wires, encapsulation, resistors, control devices) that affect advanced evaluation indicators can be applied as one unit.
- Same producer and same factory.
4.2 Application Documentation
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Application form
- List of key components/materials
- Factory inspection questionnaire (for first-time applications)
- Product manual
- Production process flow chart
- Certificates or reports demonstrating compliance with national mandatory standards
- Differences between product series/models within the same application unit
- Enterprise or group standards that have passed Shenzhen Standard advanced evaluation
- Business licenses of applicant, producer, and manufacturing factory
- Product compliance declaration
- Valid supervision inspection reports or factory inspection reports (if available)
- Other certification information for the product (if available)
- Other required documents (trademark certificates, brand authorization letters, etc.)
5. Sampling and Testing
5.1 Sampling Requirements
Samples are randomly selected from qualified products manufactured by the factory using simple random sampling according to GB/T 10111. The sampling quantity should meet type testing requirements:
- Main test model: 3 strips of 1m length
- LED modules: 5 groups
5.2 Testing Requirements
Testing should be conducted at third-party testing institutions with CMA metrology certification or CNAS accreditation. The testing items and methods are specified in the following table:
| No. | Key Indicator | Advanced Value | Testing Method |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sudden Failure | 0% failure rate after 168h continuous operation at 45°C (indoor) or 65°C (outdoor) | GB/T 39943-2021 |
| 2 | General Color Rendering Index (Ra) | ≥95 | GB/T 24824-2009, IES LM-79-2019 |
| 3 | Special Color Rendering Index (R9) | ≥90 | GB/T 24824-2009, IES LM-79-2019 |
| 4 | Color Tolerance (SDCM) | ≤3 | GB/T 24824-2009, IES LM-79-2019 |
| 5 | Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) | CCT<3500K: ≥110 CCT≥3500K: ≥120 |
GB/T 24824-2009, IES LM-79-2019 |
| 6 | Mechanical Strength | No damage affecting safety or normal use after winding test with 60N force | IEC 60598-2-21-2014 |
Testing should normally be completed within 20 working days after sample receipt and confirmation.
6. Initial Factory Inspection
The initial factory inspection evaluates the factory's quality assurance capabilities and compliance with advanced product indicators. The inspection should be completed within 3 months after product sampling and testing.
Key inspection areas include:
- Consistency between certified product name, model, specifications and test report information
- Management of key components and changes to key components
- Verification of advanced indicator compliance through inspection records and test reports
7. Evaluation and Approval
The certification body evaluates the product testing results and factory inspection conclusions comprehensively. If the evaluation is positive, the certification body issues a product certification certificate to the applicant for the certified product unit.
For compliant applications, the certification body should issue the certification certificate within 7 working days after completing product sampling testing and factory inspection.
8. Post-Certification Supervision
Post-certification supervision includes factory inspections and supervision sampling tests. The first annual supervision should be arranged 6 months after the initial factory inspection, with at least one supervision per year.
Supervision frequency may be increased if:
- Certified products have serious quality issues or user complaints
- There is reason to question product compliance with certification standards
- Changes in organization, production conditions, or quality management system may affect product compliance
Supervision frequency may be decreased if:
- The enterprise has strong R&D capabilities and participates in standard development
- The enterprise has laboratory resources recognized under ILAC agreement
- The enterprise has good certification history
- No serious non-conformities found in recent inspections
- Positive results in national and provincial product quality supervision sampling
9. Renewal
Renewal applications can be submitted 6 months before certificate expiration. Renewal requires product sampling testing and factory inspection, with testing covering relevant items specified in SSAE-A16-011.
10. Certification Certificate
Certification certificates are valid for 3 years. Certificate content includes:
- Name of applicant/producer
- Address of applicant/factory
- Name and model of certified product
- Shenzhen Standard advanced evaluation rule number and name
- Enterprise or group standard that passed advanced evaluation
- Certification mode
- Implementation rule number and name
- Effective date/validity period, initial issuance date/reissuance date
- Certificate number
- QR code
- Certification body name/address/website/issuer and logo
